Second Industrial Revolution

During the early period of the Industrial Revolution, most of the impact and growth was entered around Great Britain.  Great Britain attempted to maintain this control on Industrial power by passing strict rules and regulations regarding selling or copying any designs of the machinery used.
However, as people left Britain, they took designs with them and opened factories in new areas.  Before long the Industrial Revolution spread to Belgium, German, France, and the United States.  By 1900, the United States was the leading nation.

The effects of Industrialization caused changes in politics, culture, and standards of living.  The technological advantages as well as increased wealth helped the Western nations become more powerful than ever before.

Using the diagram below, read pages 476 - 480 and describe the changes, innovations, and advances of the Second Industrial Revolution.
