Week of Sept. 23 - 27
This week's focus will be on the civilizations of India and China. Please be sure to read pages 71 - 84. Take notes on the material and complete a chart of accomplishments like we did in the previous civilizations.
Read pages 87 - 104. This material is on the early river civilizations of China. Again, take notes and complete the chart.
The final segment of part 1 will be pages 107 - 124. This will cover early civilizations in America and Oceania. Take notes and chart the American civilizations. This should be completed by next Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Sept. 23 - today we will discuss life in India. Information on the achievements of India are found in the text and at the following websites.

India #2 This site will be used to study the religion and Vedas.
Sept. 25 - Come to class prepared to compare life in India and China. Both are in Asia and have some similarities...but there are some marked differences. Pay special attention to the culture and values.
Sept. 27 - Please bring your completed charts to class. You should have all but the America's completed. Time will be spent comparing information, composing questions, and looking for connections between the civilizations.

Week of September 16.
This week our goal will be completion of Ancient Egypt and Indus River Civilizations.
Your reading assignments include pages 49 - 68 and 72 - 84. Please complete the comparison chart for Egypt and India. You should have 3 charts completed by Monday.
Tuesday: We will complete the study of documents on Ancient Egypt. You should have completed the analysis on your document and will prepare a report to present to your group.
Thursday: We will study the carefully planned cities of Harappan society. Then we will analyze the Vedas and Aryan influences in Indian society. Special emphasis on the development of religion.
Begin study of AP History themes. Know the 5 themes. There is a project coming soon.

This link will help you prepare for testing and will provide much needed information.
You should have your 3x5 index cards to be used as study aids. More information will be coming.
