Beginning study of Part 2...The formation of Classical Societies

Topics will include:  Persia, China, India, Greece, Rome, Culture exchange on the Silk Road

Themes and topics of study in class will include:  Major belief systems, consequences (both intentional and unintentional) of movement along trade routes, cultural traditions of the classical societies, and the importance of social structure as well as conflicts between classes.

You should be reading and taking notes on pages 128 - 253

Quarter project:
Choose a theme...
1. Migration or movement of people, refugees
2. Ethnic or Religious conflict
3. Environmental issues
4. Medical or Health issues
5. Human Rights
6. Communications technology

Collect one article a week that corresponds to the theme.  These should be contemporary to today and you should be able to relate them to the theme of your choice.  USE ONLY ONE THEME for this project.  Be sure to analyze each article. Each article should be saved along with the analysis.  Create a folder/booklet to keep the articles and their analysis.  At the end of the quarter you will examine the articles and look for a pattern or theme.  Predict the direction things are going in the future.
